past 1 and half year
Just 2 months back, I had decided, I will not work for more than 9 hours a day, suddenly things got bad to worse, and still working in the same old slogging way. I have my personal life too, this is what I was thinking just 2 months back, then there came a lot of people after putting a lot of stake on me, and it is just not me to show my back, and to betray their confidence. Hence again working for more than 9 hours a day, still kinda enjoying it.
Although I am writing this blog, I am still not sure, how long will it go, in what mood would I wake up tomorrow. Everyday, I am expecting a lot to finish in office, however, I reach home after finishing only 30% of what I was targeting. I know it is poor management of stuff. I will improve on it, I promise.
Since the time, I wrote the last blog, and now, a lot of my friends got married. Some of them are living happily, some are still searching for their better halves. I belong to the first category. Yes, you got it right, I met with my soul mate. Great news right.. so time to celebrate..now a days celebration for me means, going back to sleep.
I do not know how to look into these prospective of life, that I should be happy with whatever I am getting in my professional life, or I should not be happy, I should be starving for more? I guess better be satisfied, and starve and struggle for more.
Few people, who were very close friends of mine, with some or the other reason, I missed to attend their marriage. It was not something I wanted to do, but circumstances forced me to do so. Anubha, Ankit, Ananda, Raghvendra, Prachi,Abha Guys I wanted to attend it, and I still know what were the reasons, why I was not able to join. I do know, that I will not get an opportunity to correct this mistake however, I am ready to do anything for it, if there is anything which would make you happy for the blunder that I committed. Don't know in which direction this blog is heading, but I am sure, the next blog that I would write (yes very soon I would write it) would be more interesting, you guys will not find a reason after reading that, why you read that. Till then ta ta.. enjoy the gift of life, which is life itself..No boundaries..live limitless. challenge yourself daily.

I too had a love story....
Don’t take it literally; I know it might surprise you all. How out of the blue(no I did not copy this from super hit movie BLUE) I changed my regular stream of blogging.
I was in search of a topic for my blog from past few days. Today when I joined an application on facebook, which was claiming to tell me my luck percentage of today, I did not have any slighter clue, that today I will be writing another blog.
A few days back I started reading a book, which was appearing like any other love story which now a days lot many Indian authors are writing. But somehow I was not getting time to finish that book. Moreover to add salt to wound, I was loosing badminton games from Aashu on the daily basis. So after returning from badminton games I was not feeling like reading that book. When the luck meter shown to me that I am 76% lucky today, I thought lets try another game of badminton with Ashu. No point of guessing that I was boosted with this application’s response (76% lucky). I called Aashu for the game, but somehow he did not make it to the badminton court. Having a lot of time at my disposal to spend, I again tried to read this book. And this time I completed the book.
After reading this book now I can say this book was worth missing some of my badminton games. A love story in which fiancee of the author died just few days after their scheduled engagement date. Moreover the author was not able to see her during her last days. Reading this book I can understand how it can be to lose someone whom you love so passionately. Thinking of this situation alone scares a hell out of me,
On a closing note I can say it is so much of pain to lose someone whom u love, be it friend, relatives, love or anyone who have any importance in your life. I have been through this feeling when I lost two of my dearest friends Shailesh and Gaurav, and to write that feeling in this blog do not seem possible to me.

daily struggle
In chilled weather, it is really very tough to concentrate on anything other than consuming a lot of calories in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. And I am also not different. Other than doing the said task I keep on trying to burn these excess calories as well so that I shall not regain the fat which I used to carry earlier.
For the people who are living in Delhi(NCR) or who have an experience of Delhi's winter it will not be tough to predict the temperature at morning 5.30 . And this is the same time when my alarm goes off. It takes almost 10-15 minutes to decide for waking up at this call or not. Two factors which influence this decision are the alarm of my neighbors and my last day's schedule.
Now I am sure you people must be confused how these factors can influence my decision. If I had played badminton on previous day, then a feeling naturally comes to my mind, and the feeling is that I have already loose all the excess calories of previous day by playing badminton, so I can afford skipping the gym. And second factor is like we 3 friends go to gym in the morning, and if any one is alone he will not go to gym by leaving the comfort of sleeping. So by now it must be very clear to you that going to gym is a fight in winter season, but for me reaching the gym is a bigger fight.
In last one month I was on and off in the gym, but a day before yesterday one of my friends saw me and said hey Pankaj, have you stopped going to gym. Needless to say that then onwards I am hitting the gym regularly.

God is great
I was quite lost in my own thoughts, and when I got a chance to think what I am up to, I got to know that its already more than 1 month since I wrote my last blog. Today someone (reader of my blog) asked me where my new blog is, or the passion inside me is gone, then only I decided to post it today. By the way this 1 month about which I am talking has brought good and bad news for me. I have got my appraisal, which was as expected, but I am happy as I got at least some in this market situation as well. I have completed 1 year in my company, and this is an achievement for me. And I guess I got reward for this in terms of appraisal only. My friend Ananda met with an accident, and got a fractured hand, for which she is now taking treatment. My friend Saurabh and Lokesh have got their better halves. Holi also passed in the mean time, and I got some quality time to spare with my families. In this duration I got a chance to watch Gulal, and I quite liked that movie. Ground reality.
A coincidence also happened in this duration. I am mentioning this incident without even taking consent from the concerned party, but I am pretty confident that concerned person will not have any objection with this. One of my friend(a) asked me if I knew someone in company(b). I told her that one of my colleague(c) worked in that company for 4 years so she can help. It was regarding a person(d) whom a's parents were considering for a's sister. Although it is like picking a needle from hay for anyone to tell about any individual, and that too when there are almost 5000 employees. So I asked my colleague c to let me know whatever information she can get from her friends. She told me that she(c) has one friend(e) in company b which will pass whatever information she will get.
Later on I went to my house on Holi vacations, there I got a message from c that she has got the information about that guy d, and there was nothing exciting in the information. When I came back, she asked me whether that guy has done his graduation from Lucknow, and whether his parent's are doctors. After conforming from my friend I replied to my colleague. She had got a vital link to that person. Her friend e and that guy d were class fellow in Lucknow. And the information which I got was quite shocking. I passed on that information to the concerned party. I told her what I got to know from my friend, as that person eloped with someone few months back, and after getting married they returned, but their marriage was not approved by there parents. And as if this alone was not enough that person was dropped from his project because of his performance which was not up to the mark, and to make the matter worse that person used to stare at gals. My friend a later told me that they did not find any negative point in that guy and they could have finalized that guy. But thanks to the God that they were saved. Later on while I was thinking about this incident I found out that one can be in such a big mess in case of arrange marriage. It all is up to the God what kind of partner he has selected for you. So we will have to cross our fingers and hope that we will get a perfect partner.

bad luck
I called him to know about him, but his phone was going busy. I tried for around 1 hour, just to get same response. Later on I got a call from him, and the thing which should not happened, had happened. Sapient had taken a step of retrenchment, and axe had fallen on around 600 employees, and of those unlucky employees 3 were my friend. My friend about whom I am writing was consistently in project for last 360 days. But unfortunately when Sapient had taken this step he was on bench. Neither their past performance nor their bench duration was taken into consideration.
Luck has its own share for this friend of mine, who is with me since 2001(starting of 1st year in college). Very talented and sharp guy, who finished his engineering with more then 70% marks, struggled with me after college to get a decent job. My struggle was finished in January 2006 but his struggle prolonged for few more days. We appeared together in MBT's interview in Noida, while I was asked some normal questions from engineering, he was grilled in concept of physics from school level. Later on he completed his PG diploma in embedded from C-DAC Mohali, but unfortunately he did not get a job from there as well. In one company when he was short listed, the company did not get project for which they were recruiting these people. Later on he get through ABB, and selection in ABB itself tells his level of knowledge. After hopping from Mumbai to Bangalore he came to Gurgaon for Sapient, to receive this award for his hard work. Average of 10-12 hours per day was his routine in this company, which gave him this reward. He will definitely get a better job from this and I am sure for this, but his faith has been shattered by this incident. And to make the matter worse this incident took place when it was least expected, just a fortnight before his marriage.
He has got an offer from his past employer by the time I am writing this blog, which might turn into blessing in disguise. Hope for the best for him.

funny, isn't it
Now to make the matter worse imagine a situation when light goes at 7.30 AM and comes at 9 AM, or light goes at 7.00 AM or goes at 7.45 Am. So it becomes very tough for me and my flat mates to take bath daily :) . So not to find myself in midst of such scenario, I used to get up at 6 Am in the morning, to make the proceedings easier. one or two times my friend went to his office without taking bath, so remaining two of my friends thought that they will wake up at 05.30 Am in the morning. And will start their daily rituals. The day they decided to wake up at 5.30 Am in the morning I applied a alarm of 5.25 Am, and thus finish my bath first. Now again the load shedding schedule has been changed and light goes at 5.30 Am. So now Our wake up time has again been shifted.
Every time I wake up at or before 6, I starts thinking is it really necessary to wake up so early. That's why I used to go to bed early in the night, and was not able to write blogs. This complete struggle changed me in such a way that now I started planning in advance, as now in the evening only I fill a bucket, dip the immersion road in the bucket, and plug in the switch. So the only task remained for morning is to switch on the plug. How many times did I not ask my flat mates to change the flat, but as this is near to their office so they are not comfortable in moving from this place, and thus all my hues and cry about changing the place goes in vain. And on Friday evening when I have got some time, when I am not in a situation when I need to wake up early on Saturday morning, I am burning midnight oil to write this blog. This is the place which we call as Gurgaon.

resolution for 2008
On that day I along with Lokesh took a New Year resolution that we shall go to all the lengths to reduce the potbelly. While exploring all the options to achieve this target we also had to consider the fact that we can not spend much effort in this complete exercise. Right from the days when we joined above-mentioned-local-gym, we had started taken all precautions for not to take more calories in complete day. Day started with 1.30 hour exercise in the gym, in which emphasis was on cardio section, after coming back, lime water with honey, and fresh fruits/tea and upma was our schedule for breakfast. But in spite taking all the precautions and regulatory measures differences were not clearly visible. So we looked out for another option and that was in terms of better facilities in Gym and this search ended at Endurance Gym, where we both opted for a quarterly membership. By this time Anuj left us and he remained busy in his office work.
I spent almost 2.5-3 hours per day, and all courtesy to Capgemini Company in which I did not get a project, and was on bench for 3 and half month. Lokesh was not able to continue that gym after I guess approximately 1 month of joining, as he got a lot of work pressure from his organization, and to complete that he had to go to office on weekends as well. So I was left alone to go to the gym (after Anuj and Lokesh withdraw from this). From that time my endless journey continues till time. After certain duration of approx. 20-25 days, running on treadmill turned into a pastime for me, this earlier was a nightmare for me. I started getting compliments from my friends that I am looking slimmer, which motivated me a lot, and I changed my allotted schedule which was designed by the instructor, as per my mind. I started doing cardio a lot. And a lot means a lot, as to 2 sets of 20 minutes running on treadmill, 2 sets of 20 minutes on elliptical and 2 sets of 15 minutes on cycle. And the best part in this complete stay in gym was that we could have listen to good music as per our choice as we can plug our headphones onto the treadmill and listen to whatever we wanted to. My daily schedule of gym became mechanical, as I used to read my weight twice once before and once after exercise, and then to write down this on a notebook to compare my efforts of any particular day. Once someone was wearing a tee-shirt with tag line as "Play hard or go home" which I liked a lot in that duration, as that line motivated me a lot during my exercise duration.
When I came to Mathura(my native place), it was a shocker to my parents as they too had never seen me so lean. They told me this as I was appearing weak to them. I have changed my place from Pune to Gurgaon, I have changed 2 gyms but one thing that remains constant was regular running. I still run for almost 3.5 KM per day. Once my manager asked me what positives you have seen in this organization, I told him that I am able to spend time for gym in almost 95% of the cases which is a biggest positive that I have seen in this organization.
Once I was calculating and I came to know that I have run for almost 750 KM during this complete duration, and this much distance is as good as going to Mathura 5 times from Delhi. The compliments and the confidence which I got from this weight lose were worth spending so much efforts and sweat. Year 2008 is now finished but my resolution passed on to the subsequent year as well, as now I want to keep my body fit.

Manali Trip
After a lot of discussion and dwelling around Shimla or Manali, We finalized for Shimla, as Manali was too far from Delhi. We here means me, Saurabh and Dheeraj. 1st January was a holiday for all of us and 3rd and 4th being weekend, we all had applied for leave for 2nd Jan 2009. We were planning to leave from Delhi on 31st evening, so we were looking for a train on 31st itself. But as per the foggy weather in Delhi, the train which was scheduled to arrive to Delhi at around 9 in evening, that was expected to be around 12 hours late, which was enough to spoil our plan. We had foreseen this situation and to make the matter worse there was no snow in Shimla, as per the feedback which we got from our friends. So as the things were shaping in front of us we decided to go to Manali which was going to 15 Hours journey of Bus. Luckily I got 2 more friends of mine who were also ready to go to Manali.
So finally we took a bus to Manali from Delhi at 6 in evening, and after a hectic 15 hour journey in bus, after spending our New Year night in bus we reached Manali in the morning of 1st Jan. We had booked a guest house from Delhi itself; otherwise things might turn up a little more complex. The road which was leading to guest house, starting from club house alone was enough to shake our confidence to stay in that guest house. As that was a narrow road, there was no barricading to prevent any casualty. Had we taken a step there, we would have fallen from height of 30 feet. But finally we checked in there only because that guest house had got a decent look. After routine task we were ready to start our sight seeing plan. We enquired about all the possible options from guest house owner and we planned our itinerary as per his suggestions. We visited 2 temples, and saw a waterfall by the evening time. The amazing part in all these visits was a hot water spring, where hot water flows out continuously, and this spring is famous for its heeling properties.
By the time we were done with these places it was already 6 PM. At the same time we had to book our tickets for return journey so we spent approx 30 mins in that as well. We saw a monastery as well during this. We were new to that place and so were not aware of the weather condition in the evening time. It was bleak cold in the evening time and it was getting tougher to stand or roam there, so we finally decided to walk back towards the guest house. In the mean time we took our dinner. And again after a lot of efforts on that tough road we reached the guest house. This day was long enough for us to learn the lessons. And we did it. After reaching the guest house we booked a cab for next day’s plan.
In Manali temperature was very low, but snow or snowfall was nowhere in sight. Our day 2 was allotted to see the snow only, so we reached Gulaba for this by Cab. After spending almost 4 hours there, we were done with skiing and we started to move for Solang Valley. A shivling was there almost 3 KM from Solang. And the complete path was of irregular stairs so we opted for horse ride for this part of the journey. It took almost 2 hours for this journey. After almost 2 days of our experience we were like once bitten, twice shy. So we started negotiating a lot on every deal. On this part of our journey, we came to know that how intelligent a horse can be. Suppose 5 horses were moving in a queue, once they will reach the destination 1st horse in the queue neighs to pass a signal to all other horses that this is the end point. Horse finds his own way to move on the road, whatever is the situation of the road. After coming back to Manali from Sholang, on the Mall road we went to a shop named Gulati. That fellow started to deliver his dialogues to impress us. I am into this business for last 48 years, I am designing all these dresses, I can design whatever you want and can deliver that to you within 4 hours, my clothes have my contact number imprinted on the logo, which no one have done till now, I can design for 1 day old child to any size were some of his dialogues. Anyhow we managed to escape from there and as we were moving out, another customer came in, and that shopkeeper started his tape again. This day passed on smoothly without bothering us much in the evening time, as we were prepared for the cold weather. Finally after reaching guest house on day 2 evening, we planned for day 3.
Finally to conclude this I shall say Manali is worth going there in any season, If you want to enjoy snow fall, go in late January or February. Make arrangements to cover yourself completely. Try to reach back to place where you are staying by 7.30 in the evening. Negotiate as much as you can (start from 50%). Book a place before reaching there to avoid last moment hassle, and do not carry your worries to Manali, and believe me there is lot to enjoy.

surprise
Biggest feeling of satisfaction for me is to be a reason of smile for someone.Whatever this smile will cost, it will be worth to spend for this. And to give surprises to any person on any day is something that I like a lot. It all started with me in fact. One of my friends, asked me to accompany her for shopping on my birthday in Pune. It was quite obvious for me to guess that this shopping was going to be for me only. We finished our shopping, but one thing that was annoying me was absence of my another friend who was supposed to give company to us. Later on I came to know that she has swelling in her leg due to some accident. So the friend who was accompanying me asked me to come to her home for a visit. I was not aware what this visit had in store for me. When I reached her home then I came to know what it all was about. And I got a nice surprise over there.
Second incidence is for my friend's birthday. I asked for a bouquet from the market to be delivered to her home, at a time when we would already be there, so that she can not figure it out who is behind this. I along with one of my friend reached her home. I was expecting that bouquet after 15 minutes, but that did not come. I asked my friend to excuse me for a moment, as I need to go to market due to some reason. As per my expectation she was not aware of any of my plan, so she did not pay a heed to this. At that time load shedding was also going on, so it was pitch dark outside. As I left her house to go to the market I saw a person standing outside with bouquet, I asked him why are you not going inside to deliver this? As soon as he heard this from me, he started walking along with me as I turned to my friend's house. I instructed him to come after 2 minutes, otherwise there would be no meaning of surprise. But that fellow came inside the house without ringing the bell, and behind me only. This was enough for my intelligent friend to guess whose mastermind was behind this, and thus that fellow spoiled my plan to give her a good surprise. Third incident is also with same friend when I send a cake to her, by mistake I wrote my number on the address slip, and the fellow who was delivering that cake did not remove the address slip from that packet. I got a call from her, she was thanking me for the cake. I asked her why she is thanking me? She told me about my foolishness. And again a spoiled plan.
Last incident is very recent. This belongs to a surprise that is yet to be delivered. It is one of my friend's birthday in Bangalore. Me along with some of my friends decided to send gift for her. We did not have her address. So I took this responsibility to gather her address, without letting her know why I am asking this. On GTalk I asked her that one of friend is coming to Bangalore and in case of any need she might call you, could you please pass me on your address, so that when she will be in Bangalore, she can go to your place. As per this genuine request she gave me the address, but along with a news, that she has temporarily moved to her sister's place. Now the challenge for me to get her sister's address without giving her a slight clue, why do I need this?
I got that as well, along with her office address as well. Then we planned to send a surprise for her. We contacted one of our friend in Bangalore, and asked her to deliver a gift to her. Which she should get on her birhthday only that is 28th Dec. I am not sure by the time she will read this, she will get that or not. But I am sure for my friend in Bangalore, that he will fulfill his role and will make sure that she will get her gift well within time.
According to me smile on that person's face for 2 second Worth this much headache. Hope the best for each and every reader of this blog.

I miss you Shailesh
In Pune on the terrace of our Alankapuri society, one fine day I along with Shailesh was planning for a weekend trip. After so many rounds of discussion we concluded at Nashik as our destination for weekend outing. Then as a next step, we went to a travel agent for booking of cab. We didn't pay a heed to the fact that we saw that travel agent's shop on that day only(Fact#1). That was the nearest agent from our home. That fellow suggested us to change our destination, as Nashik was going to be tough in 2 days, moreover we were planning to go out Saturday morning. He suggested us to go to Divyaghar, Harihareshwar etc on that route. After discussing it among our friends and trip mates (Aditi, Anubha, Ananda, Saurabh, Raghvendra, Amit Khetan, Roopali) we finalised this place(Fact#2). We started from Pune on 4th June morning. In the beginning cab picked up all the gals, and then came to pick us(boys). I remember that Gals were carrying sandwiches with them.We started from our place at around 7 in the morning. It was dense fog in the morning time, and to make the matter worse it was raining also at that time. One of the gals from the group was suggesting not to go, as she was afraid of the weather condition(Aditi). We stopped at 2-3 places in between Pune and Harihareshwar because Pune to Harihareshwar was approx.250 KMs, and sitting in same position in a cab for such long duration was tough. On one of the point we clicked snaps, where Anubha lost her slippers in the pond, later on with the help of Shailesh she managed to found them. I can recall that we had a hot argument with Shailesh on one side and other 8 on the other side, topic of discussion was do a person really needs spouse, or a best friend can replace need of spouse? We finally reached to the Harihareshwar temple in the afternoon of 4th June. This temple was on the sea shore, but on a height. The sea shore also was not one which has sand on the shore, instead it was rocky. We worshiped there. It was raining at that time. Then after spending some time in temple campus we were about to leave from the temple, when Shailesh pointed out towards stairs which were attracting his attention(Fact#3). Actually it was the way used for parikrama of the temple. Out of nine people only 3-4 were with Shailesh to go on that stairs, moreover because of rain stairs were slippery.
After discussion we all agreed to on that path(Fact#4), which was about witness a horrible scene. The stairs were divided in two path, one out of which was leading towards the rocky sea shore. Unknowingly we opted that way, which ends up on a place place just few feets before the sea water level.
There railing were deployed by the temple management, but it was not mentioned over there not to cross that railing. Just after that railing was the end of that plane surface, and after that it was water water everywhere, but not a single drop to drink. We were also not able to see how deep that water level was, and what was beneath the water. Actually very sharply pointed stones were resting there. All 8 peoples other then me went to enjoy the water, they opted for a route which was plane having plane stones and adjacent to the mountains. Let me clarify again that stairs were leading to a plane surface, and on both the sides of stairs mountain was there as temple was on a height. I did not go with them because I was afraid of the sea.As I was there on that plane surface I was able to see tides which were very high at that time in the afternoon.
I called all of them to come back, but due to the sound of water they heard my call after 3-4 repetition(Fact#5). All but one people started to walk back, no prize for guess as the remaining one was Shailesh. He told all of us that he will come after spending another minute there(Fact#6).The Tides were of around 5-6 feet in height. I am not sure what he was doing with his cell phone in his hand and facing sea at that time.
All the people were not even have reached to the railing, when I saw he slipped when he also started to walk back, and falls into the water. I shouted then and there, and all the friends saw there immediately. We ran to the closest point, where we could have reached. What I saw there was after first fall Shailesh get hold of some stone and was saying I am alright. But at the same time another tide came and he lost his control. After this tide his head collide against the pointed stones, and bleeding started at the same time. We shouted for help, but no coast guard was there to help him. By the time we could have done anything, tides were pulling him far from us. Raghvendra and Saurabh ran back to call someone, but when they came back Shailesh was no where in the sight, and nobody came with them as they were aware about the dangerous weather. We last saw him when he was trying to get hold of something, and expecting some kind of help. At that point we were of no use for him. We saw our friend drowning in front of us. By the time villagers and some help came, it was too late for us and Shailesh. He was nowhere in the vision. We were hoping that somehow Shailesh will be able to come back, but deep in our heart we were aware that we are consoling ourselves. On the next day we found his body. We were to inform his parents. And this too was very difficult for us, so me and Saurabh went to a PCO as our mobiles were also not working in that remote location. We were also not having Shailesh's number, so we called up one of our common friend Vishal Jha, who was from his hometown Jabalpur in M.P. and got the number. He was asking why do we need his number, but we were not able to tell anything to him.We were not in a situation to talk to any of his family member, moreover we were not strong enough to face any of his relatives, so a local person from that village helped us. He called to Shailesh's home and as his parents were not at home, he took his uncle's number from his sister, and in turn told his uncle in Dehradun about this accident.
The question that still haunt me, is the question asked by his father to all of us, that how come out of 9 people only Shailesh fell there, why not any one else? Shailesh was of such a jovial nature that he once even danced in front of our batch just for sake of one bet. Till now it is very tough for me to believe that once-upon-a-time my room mate Shailesh is now no more with me. You can conclude with all the facts what God had for him in his store. Now too whenever I think about this incident, I always thinks, had he too come back with all of us, he might be with us now, or had they heard me on my first call, they would have returned safely.

School this time
We friends followed the same procedure throughout our school life, and it was to apply both the strategies to complete the HOMEWORK. After re opening of school after holidays it was the turn for evaluating our homework. Our teacher also followed the same way throughout the school life to check our HOMEWORK. He nominated one of us(it was one from my group all the times) to check whether or not all the students have completed their homework. And as you all can imagine now what we would have done at that time, we were not having any problem with any of our friend, but if the student was not from our group or team (whatever you want to say) we used to count all the questions and then report to the faculty about the status of the same. And then was teacher's call how to deal with that culprit.
Today when I recall this complete episode I can imagine what the other group of students must have thought about us. We were certainly enemy for them. Later on all the foes became our friends(Raghvendra is one of these sufferer). We should not have done this or that, but if we would have done all the idealistic things then we would have been God. But we are not, so now I can say these were the part and parcel of School life, and only these incidents add some spices to our so called life.
college once again
There was a teacher of communication who evaluated my sessional exam’s paper and had given me meager 14 marks out of 50, that was not justice to my caliber(as I thought at that time) so I went to that teacher’s cabin(it was lab in fact) and asked him what that was. At the same time he has given good marks to some of the gals as per the information that I got from my friends cum correspondents. He explained to me that I should have written in this manner or I should have added that. Had I wrote my paper according to him, that paper would never have finished in the allotted time? Then suddenly to show my anger and dissatisfaction to him I tore my answer sheet in front of him and came out of his lab. This was against his expectation and I should not have done that but I was not able to control my temper. Now you would be thinking that this would have created a mess for me, but no the result was that I got approx. 30 marks. He increased my marks in front of me after I re appear in front of him after he sent somebody to get hold of me.
Another incidence related to marks comes like this; a person got only 2 marks in his sessional exam. And don’t speculate, it was not me. He got only 2 marks as he had not attempted more than 1 question. When faculty showed us the answer sheet, that person wrote all the answers with the help of book and went to that faculty and complained him for not checking his questions. And yes he got 48 marks out of 50. so till this time this person who was involved in this incidence called by his nick name GURU.
Once there was an exam of antenna and wave propagation, and the readers who are from electronics background must be aware about the book by K.D.Prasad. at that time we used to got nightmare about that book. Exam was our end term university exam and was in 2PM shift. That was the day when India was playing a cricket match in Pakistan and Virendra Sehwag was at his best in Multan and hitting Pakistani bowlers all around the ground, and later on scored his triple century. I have to leave for exam from home at around 12.30 PM. And till 11.30 only 2 units out of 4 were completed. But this was not giving a scare to me as I was enjoying the match. Somewhere I was feeling that I will get enough marks to clear the exam so no need to study now. Later on I reached college within time. There I saw the exam pressure as everyone was doing last minute preparation. At that time I was thinking that I should have studied a little more, and when we were about to leave our books, I saw my friend Anshul was reading something from some book, I went to him and looked on what he was reading. I saw a numerical over there, and you might say it was God’s signal to me as I was feeling temptation to read that numerical. And No prize to guess that same numerical was there in the paper. I shall tell you I got 18 marks in that exam out of 50. And that numerical was for 6 marks. Now I can imagine that my study was just enough to score 12 marks and the passing marks were 15. God and Anshul saved me otherwise I might have to see what nobody would have loved to see.
Last incidence of this blog is like, Me along with my father was going to college for admission after my counselling was over. At the college gate guard asked us where we were going? in response to this my father told him that we are going to play cricket in college. Obviously he was not expecting this, so he again asked my father and this time my father told him that we are going for admission. This was enough for his satisfaction, after entry in the register he let us go to college. Some more funnier incidences are waiting to be transformed in words, I shall post them soon. Bye till then.

2000-2001, one year of sheer endeavor
Ambiance at that place was awesome, people used to study till wee hours of morning, and then rush to morning classes, a nap in afternoon, a evening walk to relieve stress and then again late night studies. Fortnightly tests were also there to make sure that we do not relax in between our studies, and result of that tests were displayed on the notice board. There were so many mess in and around that place, and food of those were really amazing. We opted for Anand mess, owner of which was a real good fellow. We used to go to his place for lunch/dinner on the days specially when there were cricket matches of India. To accommodate to a suitable place on the match day was also a big fight at that time. A hospital was also there in the close vicinity my place, actually it was a community hospital, which charges a mere Rs.10.
I admire each and every faculty at that place, be it Sonal Rajora/shailendra Maheshwari/Pramod maheshwari and so many whose names I am not able to recall now. Each and every faculty have their own way to present things, and make them interesting for us. And this was there charisma that even in long classes of 1.5 hours we rarely slept. There was a teacher of mathematics who used to say that feel the problem, and then only you will be able to solve the numerical. Pramod Maheshwari has his own approach to solve every physics numerical. He always divides the board in 3 parts to solve the problem, and interestingly every problem ends in bottom side part of the 3rd portion of the board. It means that board was just too perfect to solve the purpose.
After spending some time there, we were now familiar with our land lord who also resides there on the ground floor of that flat. We utilised this relation with our land lord and later on our place to see the match shifted to there guest room.In our leisure time we explored some options over there. There was Chambal Garden, which was not too far from our place and we used to go there occasionally. Onion kachoris and Dashara fare were also some of the major attractions of that place.
When I talk in terms of the output, or what did I gain from that place, it was a mixed feeling. I cleared IIT-JEE screening exam 2 times, but due to lack of interest in Organic Chemistry or I must say Chemistry, I was not able to clear the IIT mains exam, because in that exam each section has its individual cut-off. Finally this 1 year training course turn out be BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW.Finally with that preparation I got some rank in UPSEE exam, and I was fortunate enough that I got admission in a college near to my place. Later on this turned out to BE A BLESSING IN THE DISGUISE and at this moment I should not BEAT THE DEAD HORSE. But there were some positives to take away from that place as well, I got to know how to handle the crunch situation. That preparation helped me in my engineering exams, and I did fairly well in those.

Friend
One incident that we both will never forget was like our preparation leaves were on and my birthday falls during those days. As she didn't wish me on that day, she wished me casually once the college reopened. But somehow I was under this impression that she didn't wish me knowingly. After few months the ball was in my court, it was her birthday and I forgot to wish her. In the evening time when she was leaving from college by college bus, somebody told me that its her birthday. I ran to that bus and wished her. By that time what she was thinking was that I knew it was her birthday, but did not wish her knowingly. So not to disappoint her I said this to her that I did this intentionally. She thought I did this tit for tat.
And everything in this friendship was also not like as smooth as it sounds. We had some fights as well. All is well that ends well. To tease her I used to ask her some or other technical terms, or concept of our engineering, and in reply of this she started asking English words, sentences to me. We used to play a game of word formation in classes as well. She knows when I am joking and when I am serious. Though she has not seen much of this world, but If you will ask for advise from her, she will give you an advice as if she is DADI AMMA.
She was like a first point of contact for me in case I had any doubt in English. And this hold true today as well. Her mother's ALL THE BEST always works for me, as it always turns out in my favour. She has a strange liking for ginger biscuits, which I sent for her from Pune once. I guess if one removes the feeling of give and take from any friendship, that friendship will remain for ever. And I guess this holds true in this case. I just want to say thanks to Prerna for being such a great friend of mine.

ideal match
So many thoughts come in individual's mind when he/she imagine his/her future would be. But before that if you are a little bit matured you will think whether or not you are ready for this stage of life. At the same time it depends on individual's family by when they want this (marriage) to happen for their child. Whatever I am writing are my own thoughts and may vary from person to person. While starting screening process everybody should understand that you are not Amitabh Bacchhan and you should not expect Rekha for you.
According to me age for a man to get married should be 27 plus minus 1, and at the same time it will depend on so many factors like whether or not you are settled in life i.e. you are earning enough to manage your family, and should also have a bank balance to overcome any emergency need. Once you reach this state, screening of bio-data starts. It is quite sure you can not select any one from there only, but anyhow some of those manage to go to the next round of process. In the mean time his/her background check starts.
Individual's do not leave any stone unturned to find anything and everything about the other candidate, and for this they go and try to find that person on orkut, and explore his/her profile as much as you can to try to find out who his/her friends are, find about him with his/her testimonial, scraps, earnings, educational qualification, marks, about their family, smoking, eating and drinking habits, hobbies and all that stuff. After seeing each other and talking to each other for quite some time to figure out nature of that person, individual can try to evaluate his/her profile again.
Individual's might have there own priorities, but the main thing according to me is that other person should be loyal to you if both of you have decided to tie the knot. His/her ex affair will not matter if you are honest to each other and you value the current relationship. After all arranged marriage is a kind of lottery because it is quite difficult to judge anybody in 1-2 months.
According to me I will be ready for the marriage once I will start getting 50K in hand, should have 3-4 lakh bank balance. I don't want for my family to wait for my next month salary to fulfill or complete their wish list. When I am there to see the girl, she should be honest. This blog might seems to be quite jumbled, but I hope I managed to communicate my idea. In the end I can only say that a bird in hand is better than two in bush, as to find out a better match you might waste time as well as you might also not get a better partner.

My first job experience(in Tech Mahindra)
As a reward of our successful training (about which as well I have mentioned in earlier blog)(http://pankajsaraswat.blogspot.com/2008/11/training-days-in-tech-mahindra-pune.html) we planned our Goa trip with friends(Saurabh, Shailesh, Amit, Puneet, Aditi, Anubha, Ananda, Lipika, Shweta,Ramit,Pooran,Arun,Minu, Natasha). A journey of volvo bus for 12 hours, pranks played by Shailesh and Pooran on Minu, some adventures in sea, accident of Lipika, many Churches and so many rides were some of major attractions of that marvelous trip.
Then after this awesome and well deserving break it was time for project allocation in the company. On a random basis our project allocation was done, with so many uncertainties and doubts our joining in project was done. Till that time a feeling was very strong in my heart that I have been recruited for Noida, and I should be sent to Noida ASAP. In fact complete batch was for Noida and no body from allocation team confirmed that which project will shift to Noida. So at the end of the day it was individuals luck for getting base location as Noida. And I was not fortunate enough to get Noida as my project location. Me, Ankit and Ananda joined the same project and out of us ananda was along with me in the automation task. From this point onward my fight for Noida transfer started.
With as much as 2 managers, and 3 senior managers changed during my struggle, No luck for me in getting transferred. Now till the time I was in Pune I also have to make sure that my stay in Pune should be memorable, and in achieving this target some friends helped me a lot and those are worth mentioning.
Ankit-Always gives you feeling of competition, but close to my heart.
Ananda-I should call her my buddy, as we share a great bonding.A gem of friend.
Anubha - A nice girl, sometime moody. course book worm.
Devendra Sir-ask him for advice, and he is always there with a positive solution, I have not seen any one else who loved Tech Mahindra more than him.
Saurabh Sir-Colleague of Devendra sir, a good friend.
Pranam-Colleague of Devendra sir, a good friend.
Rishikesh Memane(Rishi)-Team Lead in our project, but never behaves likewise. Will suggest you with best suggestion. A cool guy.
Swapna mam - Colleague of Saurabh sir, a good friend till time.
Sonali Nikam-A good friend with nothing to do with the politics in and around office.
Raghvendra-1 of my best friend till today, my school-then-company-friend.
Suman/Bhavna - We share a common workplace for ATT on 8th floor of our office. were good friends.
Kshama/Abha - very good friends, who knows when I am joking or viceversa.
So many more to discuss, but don't have so many adjectives to discuss about all of them, but simply all were superb. Had so many parties with some times small occasion and some time no occasion with various friends.
After so many attempts for getting transferred, somehow this thought came in my mind that if I will have any other offer letter with me, then I can negotiate for transfer. And for this Nobel cause of having another offer letter I tried in at least 5-6 companies, and out of which I got offer from 2 companies. On the backup of these 2 offer letters I resigned from Tech Mahindra on 5th June, and after so many round of discussion with manager and HR , opposite to my expectation last date was confirmed for 20th July. In place of transfer of location my transfer of company was about to happen. In between all this dilemma I have to attend my friends marriage on 20th July in Mathura. So I was so much tensed about all this situation, but amid of all this suddenly on 19th July I got this intimation that I can join in Noida Tech Mahindra but on different profile and for this I will have to take my resignation back. I agreed on this, and after a lot of paper work done in 1 day I took a flight of 20th Morning and attend that marriage.
On 23rd July I joined in Noida, in different project of manual testing which was not my profile.
But with the help of a nice team, no task in hand(at max I was occupied for 20% of time), some certifications, some more friends I completed my tenure with Tech Mahindra on 30th November. The time spent in Tech Mahindra will always remain a golden period for me. After 1 year of this time too i can think of this time, and it brings smile on my face. So thus I can conclude from it that we should always capture some positive points from every scenario of life.

Training days in Tech Mahindra, Pune
Then there comes a girl(Abha) with her father from Bhopal in the same compartment, and whose seat was in front of mine only. But due to some misunderstanding her seat was given to some one else, but after some talk she got her seat back. I mentioned about Abha, because she was the first one in my friends list from Tech Mahindra batch who joined on 27th Jan 2006. Cutting short this train journey, I reached Pune on 26th Jan, and with one of my friend Himanshu Khanna(from my college) I left from station to his house in Karve Nagar. Next morning he helped me to reach to my office at Nul Stop. On 27th Jan 2006 we got our hotel rooms allotted with one room mate in a twin sharing room. My first booking in hotel till that time. And my room mate was Anand Singh(CS batch). During that 7 days stay in hotel I met some good friends of my life(Saurabh Jain, Anand Singh, Rajesh Dwivedi,Gautam Berry, Gaurav Bhatnagar, Parvesh Minocha, Puneet Wadhwa, Anuj Yadav, Arvind bhai(CS batch), Amit Khetan, Ankit Agrawal, Arun Taneja, Ashish Singhal, Ramit Chauhan, Navdeep Malik, Shailesh Gupta,Pattem Prasad, Kumaran) whose friendship I will cherish for the life time. There started our technical training in Seed Infotech, Prabhat Road in supervision of Gauri mam. I am sure nobody will forget her name. At Seed Infotech I met some more friends (Aditi, Anubha, Ananda, Minu, Natasha, Roopali,Lipika,Shweta,Nidhi). and then after 7 days we shifted in to a flat along with our flat mates.
Anand, Me, Saurabh, and Arun were the lucky one to share the flat that too with lot many manipulation with Tech Mahindra admin incharge(Jeetendra Mahajan aka jeetu). And this points onward our 3 month long journey for technical training started with keeping this point in mind that if we will not be able to clear our 7 exams in 10 attempts then we will be out of Tech Mahindra. Yes this was true and about this Abha alerted me in Train and after some time Umesh Ganjale (Tech Mahindra) confirmed this.
To expect from electronics and communication engineer to clear exams of Java, C++, Oracle, SQL, Unix, Testing concept and DBMS concept in mere 5/2 days of classes was enough to make matter worse, and if this alone was not enough we were supposed to clear these exams by creating programs for the problem statement, those were allotted to us on the run. Needless to mention if Gauri mam would not be there I am sure I would not be in Tech Mahindra at the first place, and I am sure all my friends must be in agreement of this statement. In unix exam I got meager 20 marks(boundary value), and for this exam i was confident that I will secure good marks, as I completed this exam in less than 75% of allotted time, I am still amazed how Amit managed to complete this exam in just 20-30 minutes out of 2 hours. In SQL paper one of my friends asked me to show the answersheet (no prize for guess as she was asking for cheating). I told her that I will give you my answersheet, and u can copy whatever you want to. I said this simply without having any bad intention, but later on I came to know that this had shown my arrogance nature to that girl. Anubha was the topper in that exam and got 19 marks out of 20 and we(We means Ananda, Anubha, Aditi, Saurabh,Ankit and me) got our first treat in Pune after our job. And Ankit if you remember our situation ahead of C++ module, we were literally nervous for this exam as I was not able to understood anything in that module. And the colleagues who are reading this blog must remember the face of Navdeep, whom I have never seen tensed. Even with more than 1 failure in any exam he was not tensed. I should really learn how to remain cool in such situation from Navdeep.
And as it is written all is well that ends well. We all who joined Tech Mahindra in 27th January batch and were colleague were more or less in the same situation. And we all managed to clear all the exams, and managed to join Tech Mahindra successfully. Hats off to our hard work and patience. I wish all the best to all of us in our career.

Interview in Tech Mahindra(Key to Success)
The very next step of my strategy to get success in this episode of life was to ensure a call for written test from MBT (read Mahindra British Telecom). For this I contacted my cousin brother who was also in MBT, but in UK. My parents talked to them on my behalf. And I also talked with my Bhabhi, who was in IBM at that time, but she told me that she knows someone in MBT, and will talk to her.
At this moment too I am not sure who tried from their end(My cousin from UK or my bhabhi from IBM or my luck from GOD-SIDE), but anyhow I got a mail with subject "call for written test with MBT". For a moment i felt lucky to get this call. I wont say that from the starting of this episode that i was feeling that I will be selected in this company, otherwise this blog will appear too filmy to you.
Then I went for this written test in Noida. Allotted time was of 1 hour. And if rumors to be believed then paper was very tough(but in fact it was not), in which we have approx. 6 section and each individual section has its individual time limit, and a overall time limit of the complete paper as well. So before seeing the paper I was feeling as this going to be a crunch situation. Anyways I wrote the exam with full confidence in me(as my friend used to tell me that in Aptitude I can clear any exam). And that was all for that day, as MBT people told me that result will be declared in 1 weeks duration. So I left from that place.
Now waiting for the results to be announced we(I and Dheeraj) shifted our place from South ex to Lakshmi Nagar in Delhi. We were under this impression that we will get to know about our result through mail(this was told to us on the test date), but in Laksmi Nagar flat, on one fine afternoon I got a call of interview for the next day in MBT office, Noida.
I thought if I will be able to deliver this time then this will be my great chance.
So interview preparation started with a visit to cyber cafe to search about the company, what they are into exactly? In 1 hour I got a complete idea about this. Then some books here and some books there, and I was ready for the interview.
I reached there within time, and they asked me to wait till my name will be announced. From morning 11 Am to 4PM(I guess) i waited there. And if people to be believed they were asking very tough questions, and were not selecting any one at that time. I was feeling a little tensed, and as per the timing of Sachin's cover driver, they called my name for the interview.
Now I was in front of an interviewer praying from GOD that please don't ask these 2 questions 1- What I was doing for last 6 months? 2- (I have done a course in Java, but at that time I was not confident enough to make a fool of anyone in Java) Not to ask anything about Java course. I was OK with anything other then this (Technical or aptitude or puzzle). And no prize for the guess interviewer asked me both the questions other then some regular stuff. But on that day GOD was on my side so both the time when he asked me these questions, he got call from somewhere, and he forgot what he was asking before that call. And in the end after approx. 20 mins of interview he told me to wait outside, and wait for a call from HR.
And true to his words, I got a call from HR to go in some other room for one more round of interview. Now I thought 2 round of technical interview will make it difficult for me to get selected. But again praying to GOD that please listen to me this time I wont ask anything more after this i went into that room.
I don't know from where I got some energy to fool around the next interviewer, as he was asking me some programming in microprocessor, but I told him that I can tell you in C language, and he said OK. I did that. Then he asked me some puzzles, which I forced him to ask, as I said that I have interest in solving the puzzles. He gave me 3-4 puzzles, and every time he told me that if any puzzle is not new to me I should have told him beforehand. But I was not a fool. Neither I told him nor he get to know, that 2 puzzles I have heard and solved before. The pattern of asking question was he gave me one puzzle and some time to solve that, and went out of the room. I was able to answer 3 of his puzzle anyhow, and 1 solution that I gave was unorthodox. That was it in the second round. He also asked me to wait outside.
With butterflies in the stomach I was waiting, sitting on the sofa. Then HR and that guy have some discussion, and what I remember was HR guy came out from somewhere having a form to fill. At that moment I got the feeling that I have hit the jackpot. And finally he told me that now YOU-HAVE-BEEN-SELECTED-INTO-MBT. And that was the confirmation call. Last interesting point was, he asked my expectation, I being a jobless-6 months old-fresher told him anything around 10K will do, and in reply to this he told me that I will be getting 2.5 lacs per annum. I was more then happy after hearing this, and thus I got my first selection into an IT firm.
In the end I would like to say that if God has made a lock, then there must be a key, created by god.So no need to panic in any situation, just trust on GOD, everything will be fine.

Faculty in college
I want to introduce you to the faculty of my engineering life(1st year of electrical branch) and 2nd year onwards of electronics branch.
J.S.Singh - Physics- He once told me to speek in english as he said to encourage me that I wont be checking your spellings, so you can speak in english.
O.P.Sharma(Read Jadugar/Tillu) - Communication - Height not more then 5 feet, in case he hear any noise in the class of even 50 students, and I am also there in that class, then without even looking towards the class he simply said Pankaj, no, dont make noise. I even tore my answersheet in front of him as he has given me only 15 or 18 out of 50 in sessional. and after this he increased my marks to around 30-35(approx).His famous quote "As far as my last lecture is concerned..."
Piyush Singhal - Mechanical engineering - Eventhough he taught me in only 1 sem in 1st year, till now(7 year after that) he suggests me to appear for IES(He was aware of my talent, although I was not).
Amit Mishra - Antenna - all of my classmate must be remembering him with his 2 dialouges
Beta, kah main bhi sahi raha huna aur kah tum bhi sahi rahe ho, ab tum baith jao.
ab to diwali ki bhi chuttian khatm ho gayi hain aur paper sir par hain, ab to pad lo. He was too hard working.
Vinay Deolia - Most useless faculty of college - in one complete semester he taught us OP-AMP in the class, and forced everyone to make notes, and the semester exam we got question 0f 15% from that portion. He even dont know how to create and manage a mail id, and whats the use of it.
Dharmendra- NCR teacher - He always dictates some notes to the class which were always there in the books. Out of 3 times in sessional exams I failed 2 times. But I managed to clear the external with more then 60% in exam.
Manish Goel - Maths - Mama's boy, In the evening too you can see him as much fresh as u have seen him in morning. He knows how to teach students to just manage to pass in the exams.
T.R.Lenka - VLSI - He used to come in class wearing topi(Cap), now while writing this blog I understood he was the motivation behind Himesh Reshamia. He had a strange habit to called chip as cheep, which many people were not able to understand.
Paromita Shome and Maghvendra Saini - Electrical - they were like buddy to the complete class, I am sure no body will have anything to say against them.
Every teacher in the college(Be it Deepak Das, Vivek Sharma, Anjum(maths), Manikanta,Chandan Jha, Sanjoy, Atul Bansal,Prabhakar, Shilpa,Ashish Sharma,Bajpai(from workshop),Ashish Gaud,A.N.Mishra, Rajeev Dwivedi, etc) had one or two special properties by virtue of which they were different from the crowd. They all were able to make a impression(good or bad) in very first meeting with you. Chalo all well that ends well.
Thanks to those kind of teachers, otherwise college life would definitely not have been spicey. No regrats for anybody.
College life
Second Year - 90 odd new class mates, a hell lot of books, U.P. Tech . university's Electronics syllabus, annoying faculty, a college 17km away from home, auto to commute what else anyone can ask for getting life worse in second year itself. Then teachers like Vinay Deolia(Will describe him later) who made our life a nightmare. Some new friends(Prerna, Parul,Ujjawal,Rohit,Anshul,Vikas,Ankit,Khemchand,Saurabh, laddu, kida,Lokesh(mota),rahul,Gaurav(rana),Vishal(Tyagi, machhar),Shyam bhai(Some of them I have missed, but all of them have a special place in my heart) some interesting topics, Samosas of canteen, lunch of college mess keep the fire burning anyhow till final year. Otherwise I would not have survived in that branch or in that college. One more thing that is worth mentioning is the speed of net, at that time it used to take at least 5 mins to load a gmail home page (u can imagine how fast it must be).
Those days seriously rock. No matter how much care less I would be but when I waited for the results my heart would come to my mouth at the thought of seeing something unexpected. There was one person (Gopika) whose result I used to watch after mine although I can not explain the reason.
15 marks in STLD,anteena and 30 in physics exam still give me goose bumps. If you will ask any of my batchmates no one can say that I was a studious kind of person or a careless person, But anyhow I managed to clear that degree with 75%(good na), did a good project that is till date a achievement for me.
Expect some more very soon.
